"un mar rojo", rodado en La Habana y en el barrio de Santa Fe, tiene como objeto el pueblo cubano, su cultura y su historia única y excepcional. La lucha y la resistencia históricamente emprendidas por este pueblo, se han elevado a paradigma universal del anhelo humano para conseguir la libertad y la autoafirmación, no sólo personal sino también colectiva.
"Un mar rojo" no tiene las características de un documental, sino las de una obra de arte de video creada con un lenguaje experimental no naturalista. El video comienza con un elemento narrativo, cuatro chicos que se zambullen en el mar. El chapuzón alude a cambiar de dimensión, la de la fantasía y de la imaginación a través de la cual, como en un sueño, se representa la historia única de una isla y la de su gente. Inicia la tormenta donde el mar enfurecido, presencia constante en el video, representa bien la fuerza destructiva incontrolable y bien la energía vital incesante que resiste a la dureza de la vida.
Las escenas de la vida en las calles en la parte central del video, que se caracterizan por el encanto de los lugares y por la extraordinaria humanidad de sus personajes, pero también por una opresión latente, por una escansión lenta y atemporal de la vida cotidiana, reaparecen en la parte final del video como facetas mutantes de un caleidoscopio de colores. El ritmo del flujo de imágenes se acelera, mientras el movimiento de la respiración profunda de un cuerpo masculino se convierte en imágenes líquidas que evocan el flujo vital de la sangre en las venas. Los cuatro chicos que emergen y salen de las aguas del mar representan la transformación de un sueño en la esperanza de una realidad nueva y diferente.

A DREAM IN GAZA 2015 see video
"a dream in Gaza" was filmed in December 2014-January 2015 in the Gaza Strip, approximately four months after the Israeli military offensive Operation Protective Edge, the third the civilian population have been subjected since the end of 2008.
The signs of the destructive fury are still there, intact and unmoving and seem to seek to frustrate any attempt to move towards the future. In the air there is an inexplicable mixture of war and life, a latent tension, like storm which could suddenly break, like a precarious balance between life and death. An 18 year old boy dreams of freedom, the redemption of his own and his family's fate through Parkour, which he practices with passion and determination.
"a dream in Gaza" is the representation of a catastrophic and violent event but also of hope for a different life. Fahid represents a universal human condition, that of those who manage to oppose the most barbaric violence and the violation of their fundamental human rights with endurance, imagination and love of life.
The video opens with a series of close-ups of the protagonist, in his face the signs of the anguish and terror caused by the traumas suffered which, still unhealed, he relives in his memory. In the words that flow and in the images that follow emerge an awareness of the harshness of his existence but they also bear his vitality and determination in the struggle to realize his dream: a dream of freedom which is not an attempt to escape from reality but rather a representation of its possible transformation.
